Now, when I boot into recovery environment, either way, I get 'Cannot get network adapters'. OK, so I'll just recreate the LightsOut restore and the custom disk with 'automatically start network services' selected.

Interesting since this drive is hooked directly to the PC and is not supposed to require drivers. Just for kicks I used the 'start network services' option bingo, there it was.

Should be noted that if I go into the 'backup' option in the recovery environment the drive IS visible. On testing however, in the recovery environment, choosing 'restore computer' option, Ghost could not see the USB drive where the backup was made ( Seagate Expansion 1 TB USB 3.0 Portable External Hard Drive (STBX1000101)). I created a LightsOut restore and a custom recovery disk.
